How to Measure Your Foot Length Accurately

If you are uncertain about your shoe size or fall between size boundaries, measuring your foot length in centimetres gives you an exact match:

  1. Place a blank sheet of paper flat on a hard floor against a flat wall.
  2. Stand on the paper with your heel resting firmly against the wall.
  3. Using a pencil, mark the furthest point of your longest toe onto the paper.
  4. Measure the distance from the edge of the paper to the mark with a ruler in centimetres.
Between Sizes at UK 7? For slender feet in Chelsea boots or trainers, select Women's UK 4–8. For broad feet in heavy hikers or wellies, select Men's UK 7–10.

UK 7 is our crossover size. If you have slender feet or intend to wear the socks inside tailored Chelsea boots, loafers, or trainers, choose the Women's UK 4–8 mould for a snug, gather-free fit. If you have broad feet or wear heavy leather walking boots, work boots, or wellies, choose the Men's UK 7–10 mould for extra forefoot room.
Why does Scandi Socks reject single-tube unisex sizing?
Generic "one-size-fits-all" tubes rely on extreme elasticity. This causes thin-out at the heel on larger feet and bunched-up fabric at the toes on smaller feet. By maintaining separate Women's UK 4–8 and Men's UK 7–10 knitting moulds, our socks provide targeted 90-degree heel pockets that stay in place all day.
Will the socks shrink when washed?
Our merino wool and combed cotton yarns are pre-washed and stabilised during production. When washed on a gentle 30°C wool cycle and air-dried flat away from radiators, shrinkage is negligible. Never tumble dry wool socks as heat breaks down elastane fibres.
